On the night of October 31st to November 1st, the festival of Halloween takes place, which comes from the Anglo-Saxon world.
Halloween is a very, very old festival. It would have been invented by the Celts, more than… 2 000 years ago! According to this tradition, the night of October 31 belonged to the dead, who dressed up as monsters to visit the living.
The tradition is that children wear scary costumes (disguises): they are dressed as scary creatures such as ghosts, witches or vampires and they ring the doorbells of houses asking for candy or cakes. Popular Halloween activities include trick-or-treating , attending Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins or turnips into jack-o’-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories…
