The Dragon’s Egg treasure hunt saved the day this past weekend for my daughter’s Dragon-themed birthday party. I had put a lot of work into planning my own elaborate outdoor scavenger hunt at my daughter’s request, but when heavy rain was forecast for the day of the party, I knew the plan was in trouble. I didn’t have time to plan a new activity for indoors, and a quick Google search led me to Treasure hunt 4 Kids. I purchased and downloaded the Dragon’s Egg pdf easily, printed up sets of clues for two teams, and hid all the clues around our house after my kids were in bed the night before the party. The clue activities were just the right amount of challenge for the competing teams. Most of the kids at the party were slightly older than the recommended age of 6-7 years, but when the pressure was on to complete the tasks quickly, some mistakes were still made and required the teams to rethink their answers. In the end, the kids loved the challenges and the treasure hunt filled 45 mins of our party time. Now that I’ve seen how successfuIly this worked, I plan to purchase some of the other treasure hunts for other events that we have coming up.
